Bovine Serum Albumin

Product Description

RMBIO Bovine Serum Albumin solution has been purified from either domestic (U.S.) or Australian and New Zealand sourced bovine serum. Manufactured according to our proprietary heat-shock process and further purified through our industrial scale chromatographic column, our BSA is an essential component for diagnostic applications and biopharmaceutical production.  Australian and New Zealand sourcing has been obtained for those applications where the risk of BSE infectivity presents a safety and regulatory concern. Domestic sourcing provides a high-value product while offering a high rate of safety and without compromising quality.

The product is supplied as a liquid or lyophilized powder that is available in large lot sizes and with different packaging options. RMBIO has the capability to produce a variety of grades of BSA to meet customer specifications, including SH-Blocked, Polymerized, Clinical Diagnostic Grade, and Tissue Culture Grade.

Applications

  • Growth promoter in serum-free or serum-reduced media
  • Used in EIA, RIA and other immunoassay techniques as a diluent or stabilizing agent.
  • Prevents non-specific absorption by acting as a blocking agent
  • Protein stabilizer for long term storage of highly diluted antibodies
  • Stabilizing and activating agent for enzymes
  • Used as a protein supplement for serum controls, standards, and reference materials.

Bovine Serum Albumin should be stored at 2 - 8° C. Specific product requirements and typical values are given below.
